Anya and Lucky

We walk our two dogs in Sutton Park every day, a twelve year old rescue Lurcher Anya and a five year old Staffie Lucky. Lucky came to us in January 2013 and initially only needed some basic training, so we joined a local training club and he went through the first four week beginners’ class easily. However, in the next class he was set on by the same Yellow Labrador four times in a space of a couple of weeks, and we had to stop taking him.

He was now afraid of other dogs and we had problems when walking in the Park if other dogs came near. He had also started to pull on his lead, something he had never done before. We sought the help of a dog behaviourist who recommended food rewards and herbal tranquilisers. This helped a little, but did not stop the pulling and was useless when another dog was around.

We felt “stuck” with a problemed dog, but we then heard about Yvonne’s successes from other dog owners in the Park. Looking at her website we realised that she used a similar approach to Cesar Millan, the American/Mexican Dog Whisperer, who we had always held in high regard following his TV Series.

We have now had three visits from Yvonne and even after the first, the change was dramatic. He now walks quietly to heel, just sits and watches when another dog comes near and he no longer goes beserk when we have callers at the house.

We cannot praise Yvonne highly enough, she is a pleasure to deal with, she knows instinctively what a dog needs and her methods really work.
